摘要
Translation is not only a linguistic process and project though language is its scheme and soul. In translation language goes through both resistance and dissidence, makes itself explicit but non-transparent before the supposed "reality" and opens to the constant redefinition of meanings and to the self-translation of texts, languages, bodies, sign systems, social subjects. From this perspective translation stands out as cultural translation. Culture is a dynamic system and is to be conceived not as a compact and identity system but, according to the semiotic analysis, as a provisional part which, in Lotman's terms, is always in-redefinition of the semiosphere continuum. Thus, translation is a kind of pathway to meaning and language and is embedded in cultural formations. Recalling Walter Benjamin's images, translation also provides language with the possibility to touch on "its upper and purest zone".
