WORK MOTIVATION AND PRODUCTIVITY IN VOLUNTARILY FORMED WORK TEAMS - A FIELD-STUDY IN CHINA

摘要
The effectiveness of regrouping through members′ mutual selection was examined in 14 experimental groups by comparison to control groups in different industrial settings in mainland China. Compared to work teams with assigned members, voluntarily formed work teams had higher work motivation and better performance. The results were interpreted in terms of cooperative expectations, self-determination, and specific cultural influences. © 1993 by Academic Press, Inc.
