摘要
An evolution equation is derived for slow amplitude variations of weakly nonlinear Bleustein-Gulyaev waves. This is accomplished by extending a method previously applied to the case of weakly nonlinear sagittal piezoelectric surface waves by Parker and David. The influence of the sagittally polarised second harmonic, which is excited nonresonantly be a fundamental wave of the Bleustein-Gulyaev type is taken into account, and it is expected that the second-order nonlinearity can significantly alter the efficiency of third harmonic generation of Bleustein-Gulyaev waves.
