摘要
In this paper, a printed quasi-self-complementary antenna (QSCA) suitable for GPS/DCS/PCS/UMTS/LTE/WiMAX/WLAN applications is introduced and studied. It uses a pentagonal shape to achieve three resonant modes for multiband operation. The proposed antenna, which is fed by a 50 Omega coplanar waveguide without using a matching circuit, consists of a C-shaped ground and a half-pentagon monopole-type radiator. By properly designing a self-complementary structure, the antenna can realize a flat impedance variation across two wide operating bands, covering 1.47-2.76 GHz and 5.05-6.51 GHz. It is fabricated on a 0.8 mmFR4 substrate and also features a compact physical size of 40 x 40 mm(2), only 0.196 lambda at the lowest operating frequency of 1.47 GHz. The proposed antenna has advantages of uniplanar structure, easy fabrication, low cost, and multiband operation. Also, the impedance matching performance of three resonant modes for the antenna can be adjusted flexibly. Simulated and measured results demonstrate that good radiation performance of the antenna is obtained as well. This makes the proposed antenna design suitable for practical applications. Details of the design process and the experimental results of the constructed antenna are presented.
