EFFECT OF STRESS ON DEVIATION OF THE INPLANE FLUX FROM THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION IN SINGLE STRIP TESTERS

摘要
Deviations of the flux from the longitudinal direction have been investigated in a single strip tester. Epstein strips of both non-oriented and grain-oriented electrical steels were investigated at various angles of magnetisation under applied linear compressive and tensile stress levels of up to +/- 40 MPa. The flux directions in non-oriented steels were not seen to be significantly affected by texture or the applied stress, whereas grain-oriented materials were seen to be affected by both. The highest deviation of the flux was seen to occur in grain-oriented steels, at high tensile stress levels. Compressive stress has the tendency to reduce flux deviations in all magnetisation directions.
