NEW APPLICATIONS OF VAN-DER-WAALS RADII IN CHEMISTRY

The review is the continuation of the authors' studies on diverse applications of van tier Waals radii (WR) in various fields of chemistry, particularly in crystal chemistry and stereochemistry. The analysis of literature data has shown that WR systems are used most often and most effectively while discussing molecular conformations, although the WR systems' source is mainly the analysis of intermolecular contacts. The review presents both the applications of WR that have already become traditional and some new aspects, inducing geometrical modelling of chemical reactions and new types of specific intermolecular interactions.
