摘要
A bryological investigation in December 1993 on the island of Cyprus showed that the genus Grimmia was represented by 13 species. The ecology and distribution of G. pitardii Corb., and the identity of G. nutans Bruch and G. ungeri Jur. are discussed. G. meteorae Townsend, recently described from Greece, appears to be conspecific with G. nutans Bruch. This hygrophytic species was found in damp gullies on northern slopes of Mt Kionia in the eastern part of the Troodos range. The 'forgotten' taxon G. ungeri Jur. appears to be a distinctive species, occurring abundantly on damp rocks and in fissures on the northern and eastern slopes of Mt Olympus, the highest peak of the Troodos, at altitudes from 1600-1950 m, frequently associated with Schistidium flaccidum.
