THE PREVERBS OF ITALIAN, ELEMENTS OF COMPARISON WITH FRENCH

Our reflexions concern the existence of preverbs (considering preverbal and postverbal particles) in italian and french languages. Our aim ist not to describe exhaustively these phenomenons but rather to build a new methodology capable of going beyond the simple lexical description. This methodology is not only based on syntactic processes of derivation but also on semantical relations that consolidate the different elements of predicate (verb, preverb or both). Therefore it is possible from the predicate to analyse the working of these relations and to evidence the processes able to result in global meanings. These relations, simple and complex, show the creativity of preverbation in italian and french languages.
