A Case Study of Cross-Dressing: Using a Strategic Therapy Lens in Couple's Counseling

There are two goals for presenting this article. The first goal is to consider socialized gender roles, clinical treatment, and strategic marriage therapy and to present a case study detailing the progression of counseling with a cross-dressing client with the spouse. The second goal is to prepare counselor educators, counselors, and counseling supervisors by encouraging consideration for the cross-dressing client and encouraging discussions around gender identity and gender expression and to improve the therapeutic practices with nontraditional gender identities and nontraditional gender expressions.
