摘要
This paper details the experimentally determined effect of intermediate compressive high-stress pulses on the high-cycle fatigue strength of a widely used low alloy engineering steel. The results show that intermediate high-stress pulses (of magnitude less than the yield point) reduce the high-cycle fatigue strength of the material. Increasing the frequency of the high-stress pulses reduces the fatigue strength of the material even further.
