摘要：
This article reviews growth, development, and training response in the young female athlete. The female athlete triad of disordered eating, amenorrhea, and osteoporosis as it relates to the adolescent is discussed. Specific medical and psychological concerns in the adolescent population are summarized, and special considerations for preparticipation examinations are outlined.
