Intercultural Bilingual Education and the Afro and Indoamerican populations in the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua

Any change in education and sociocultural relationships requires a large process with transformations in academic activities, but also in social and cultural practices, through specific institutions that suggest steps towards pluralism and multiculturalism. In the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, the tragedy of the civil war, together with the electoral defeat of the revolutionary Sandinist government and the educational collapse have created a critical situation for bilingual educational institutions. For this reason, the implementation of interculturalist policies requires a complete re-engineering of the educational area.
