PRODUCT-INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL-PROTECTION IN THE CHEMICAL-INDUSTRY - SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

Substances clearly undesired by manufactures are frequently produced in production processes designed to yield chemical products. They are called residues. Minimisation of these substances is component of company environmental protection. This paper demonstrates for the chemical industry how this ecological goal can be attained with the concept of production-integrated environmental protection, and reports the results obtained and the limitations encountered. The associated costs are likewise considered.
