WHAT THE TERM "TEXT" MEANS IN PHILOSOPHICAL HERMENEUTICS (H.-G. GADAMER AND P. RICOEUR)

Annotation: This article disputes the definition of "text" as the practical objective of practices explored by philosophical hermeneutics and argues that the differences between Gadamer's and Ricouer's notions of text are defined by themes and problems of their philosophical research programs. The main argument is that any readable and applicable object in philosophical hermeneutics should be defined as a "text".
