摘要
Yam-to-yam friction is an important process because it affects the performance of yam constructions. Correlations between yam-to-yam frictional data and, for example, the strength properties of constructions are mainly reported in a highly qualitative way. This paper presents a description of static yam-to-yarn friction and examines the relation between stick-time and static friction force. An analysis of frictional data is proposed, which makes it possible to obtain parameters that can be directly correlated with the strength properties of constructions. This result makes it possible to assess the influence of yam treatments on the strength properties of constructions on a laboratory scale without the necessity of expensive testing of constructions for every yarn specimen.
