摘要
Guidelines are becoming increasingly more important in health care when they are made in a scientific and interdisciplinary evidence-based manner and are methodologically sound. The development began in Germany 15 years ago on the recommendation of the Expert Committee for Concerted Action in the Health System. The continuous guidelines group of the DGMKG (German Society for Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery) and its subgroups have been working for 8 years on guidelines for the field of oral and craniomaxillofacial surgery (MKG) and neighboring fields, based on the concept of the Working Party of Scientific Professional Societies (AWMF). In the process of development all oral and craniomaxillofacial surgeons are invited to participate in this process and in this manner to promote the implementation of high-quality guidelines for the benefit of patients.
