摘要
Within the scalar framework, the coupling coefficients between synchronous fundamental modes of two circular weakly guiding fibres with arbitrary refractive-index profiles and infinite uniform cladding are given in an alternative form that merely necessitates to calculate the normalised power of the isolated-core modes, and circumvents the evaluation of overlap integrals.
