摘要：
In India, women are far behind men in education as well as employment. Issues related to labour force status, employment, and earning of woman are discussed with a comparison to the corresponding situations for men. An analysis of differences in the fields of specialization and earnings of women and men is given. Trends in earnings difference of male and female in different sectors, viz. public, private and self-employed, are presented. A regression analysis of this trend is carried out.
