Isolated lingual cysticercosis

Cysticercosis is a condition that occurs when man is infested by the larvae of Taenia solium, acting as an intermediate host instead of definitive. Oral cysticercosis is a rare event, and it represents a difficulty in clinical diagnosis. A case of cysticercosis in a 21-year-old male with a painless swelling at the junction of anterior one-third and posterior two-third portion of the tongue is presented. An excisional biopsy was performed and histopathological examination revealed cysticercosis.
