KINETIC DETERMINATION OF 8-HYDROXY-QUINOLINE IN THE PRESENCE OF HALOGENATED DERIVATES USING 2,6-DICHLOROQUINONE-4-CHLOROMINE

New methods for the kinetic determination of 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) and for this compound in the presence of 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline (clioquinol), 5,7-diiodo-8-hydroxyquinoline (iodoquinol), 5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline (dichloroxine), 5,7-dibromo-8-hydroxyquinoline (dibromoxine), 8-hydroxy-7-iodo-5-quinolinesulphonic acid (chiniofon) and 2-methyl-5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline are presented. 2,6-dichloroquinone-4-chlorimide is used as the chromogenic reagent. At pH 5,20 by using the tangent method, oxine can be determined in the 2,510(-5) - 6.10(-4) M range. In a similar way, at pH 7.20 the determination of chiniofon can be achieved in the 4.10(-6) - 8.6.10(-5) M range. The determination of the mixture oxine-chiniofon has also been possible.
