摘要：
The mass spectrometric behaviour of more than 60 different macrocyclic compounds is reviewed in detail with the aim of depicting general fragmentation pathways, well-related to the different structural classes. In general, the electron-ionization-induced decomposition is characterized by the ejection of single molecules characteristic of the macrocycle. [M + H]+ and [M/2 + H]+ ions are always encountered due to the intrinsic basicity of such molecules.
