THE CORRELATION OF THE SOLAR NEUTRINO RATE WITH SOLAR-ACTIVITY

An examination is made of the correlation of the rates from the solar neutrino experiment of Davis et al with sunspot numbers for various periods of time and as a function of solar latitude. Our analysis gives a measure of confirmation to the idea of a modulation of the detected rate by the magnetic field in the solar convection zone and goes on to demonstrate that the true rate, corrected for loss, is not inconsistent with the predictions of the standard model.
