摘要
In 1941, Dr. M.D. Leakey and J.C. Trevor excavated a burial mound at Ngorogoro crater, northern Tanzania. The mound contained human skeletal remains associated with some stone bowls, a pestle and some obsidian flakes together with grindstones, pots, cowrie shells and pottery beads. The human skeletal materials are described here and represent a total of 11 individuals of whom 10 are young adults between the ages of 25-30 years and 1 infant of the age of 1 1/2-2 years. The Ngorongoro human skeletal remains show great affinities to the Njoro River Cave and Hyrax Hill specimens and their age has been estimated at about 2260 (+/- 180) years BP on the basis of C14 dating on human bone (Sassoon 1968).
