The methodological pillars of higher education in the European University

The current paper delves into the main methodological aspects that characterize the educational context of higher education. On the basis of European convergence in higher education and the conceptual and methodological changes that stem from it, this paper upholds that the teaching and learning process in European universities is built upon three key foundations that are explored in depth: competences-based Leaching, Lhe new Leaching models and the new roles adopted by the agents, and the teaching formats that emerge with the introduction of the European Credit Transfer System and the European Higher Education Area.
