摘要：
A theoretical treatment of a thermal growing plume in a Hele-Shaw cell is presented. An explanation of why the experiment shows a cap similar to a Saffman-Taylor finger that occupies half the cell is presented. A boundary layer analysis, in two dimensions, reveals a selection mechanism where the thermal boundary layer acts like the curvature effects in ordinary viscous fingering experiments.
