摘要
The time-resolved infrared absorption spectra obtained upon 355 nm laser photolysis of the gas phase (eta6-C6H6)Cr(CO)3 are presented. (Eta6-C6H6)Cr(CO)2 is produced upon absorption of a single ultroviolet photon. The bands observed at 1917 and 1981 cm-1 are assigned to B1 and A1 terminal carbonyl-stretching modes of (eta6-C6H6)Cr(CO)2 with local C2v symmetry. The bond angle of OC-Cr-CO in (eta6-C6H6)Cr(CO)2 is estimated to be 101-degrees. The rate constant for reaction of (eta6-C6H6)Cr(CO)2 with CO is determined as (3.4 +/- 0.2) x 10(5) Torr-1 s-1 at 80-degrees-C.
