摘要
X-ray analysis and C-13 NMR spectra suggest that the product from the reaction of a 3,4-dimethyl-3-phospholene-1-oxide with two units of dichlorocarbene is not a phosphepine oxide, as has been suggested earlier, but rather the isomeric 4-methylene-1,4-dihydrophosphinine-oxide. In addition, the phosphepine-oxide is also formed in a similar reaction of the methoxy-phospholene-oxide derivative. A mechanism is suggested for the formation of the observed products.
