ON THE MICRO-ARC OXIDATION AND ITS EFFECT ON THE CORROSION-MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF ALUMINUM-ALLOYS AND COATINGS

摘要
The results of a study of the effect of oxygen-containing additives in the electrolyte used for the micro-arc oxidation of aluminum on the rate of formation and phase composition of the oxide layer are presented. The beneficial role of hydrogen peroxide is demonstrated. Also, a double-stage mechanism for oxide layer formation is proposed. Micro-arc oxidation is shown to have a positive effect on the increase of corrosion-abrasive wear resistance and the corrosion-mechanical strength of aluminum alloys and on the protective ability of aluminum coatings on carbon steel in a mineralized hydrogen sulfide-containing environment.
