摘要
The authors have considered the problem of criminal responsibility of mentally disordered offenders in the English judicial system. There are: three procedures which can be used to avoid trial, two defenses available to mentally disordered persons charged with murder (special verdict and diminished responsibility), and psychiatric orders following conviction. The authors conclude that there are many medico-legal measures in English Law which combine together to produce a flexible and complex system.
