摘要
This review summarizes our current knowledge of the regulation of the cell cycle by the cyclin-dependent kinase family (CDK). The CDKs are regulated both by binding their cyclin partners, and by phosphorylation of certain key residues. Cyclin synthesis and destruction are regulated during the cell cycle, and there are two broad classes of cyclins: the STAR T or GI cyclins, and the mitotic or G2 cyclins. lit vivo the different cyclins and CDKs demonstrate a high degree of specificity in binding to each other, and it appears that specific cyclin-CDK complexes are involved in the regulation of particular cell cycle events.
