摘要
The kinetics of oxidation of uric acid (UaH2) by chloramine-T (CAT) studied in the presence of osmium(VIII) in alkaline medium conform to a rate law (i) -d[CAT]/dt = {k1 + k2K2[OH-] + k3K2K3[Os(VIII)][OH-]}[CAT]T[UaH2]T, where K2 and K3 are second dissociation constant of uric acid and formation constant of an intermediate complex respectively. Osmium(VIII) catalyzes the reaction intramolecularly via redox cycle of Os(VIII)/Os(VI).
