SYSTEMS BASED ON KNOWLEDGE AND ORGANIZATIONS

This article by a sociologist and computer scientist describes the technical and social contexts of developments in computer science. Combining these two analyses provides many a lesson. We can thus understand how the constraints on the organization implanting such systems are reflected in the form of an explicit organizational model for decisions about programming. It illustrates how technological constraints shape the organization, even if other processes modify the resulting structure.
