ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF FE AND GTD CONCEPTS IN THE MMP CODE

摘要
The MMP code, which is based on the Generalized Multipole Technique (GMT), has a very flexible structure that allows the implementation of different concepts known from other numerical methods like the Finite Elements (FE) and the Geometric Theory of Diffraction (GTD). This leads to a wider range of applications. In this paper, the main drawbacks of the GMT compared with FE and GTD are outlined. It is shown how these disadvantages can be overcome. Finally, the scattering of a plane wave incident on an infinite metallic plate of finite thickness is computed to illustrate the procedure.
