摘要
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common degenerative disease of the central nervous system in young adults in industrialized nations, accompanied by chronic inflammation in the brain and spinal cord and successive demyelination and axonal destruction. MS is associated with autoimmune diseases, chronic and usually intermittent course. In overrun occurs deficiency symptoms such as paralysis, blindness or cognitive impairments. The reasons are still unknown. For pharmacological therapy are, inter alia, glucocorticoids and immunomodulating therapeutics available. Many of the physical and psychosocial impairments such as dysphagia have a direct impact on nutritional status. Additional problems arise due to adverse drug reactions, eg. by glucocorticoids. Paralysis and psychosocial stress contribute to obesity development. In the result, the risk of over-and/or malnutrition is depending on the course, given. Surveys showed that many patients takes food supplements or are on miracle diet, whereby these risks appear more serious. All the above mentioned points illustrate the urgent need for action by nutritional medicine and counseling, whose advantages are indisputable. A professional guide can counteract the risk self-treatment, or contribute to independence and quality of life of MS patients. All items illustrate the urgent order for action by nutritional medicine and counseling, their advantages are indisputable. A professional guide can counteract the risk self-treatment, or contribute to independence and quality of life of MS patients. Currently, patients rarely take counseling. The nutritional medicine research focuses on the influence the disease process. There is evidence, for example, for the supply of n-3 and n-6 fatty acids and vitamin D. The literature on this is extensive, but does not allow a generalized statement about effective nutritional strategies or supplementation specifically for MS patients. Regardless of this objective, but is also a need to advise or to treat MS patients regarding their real nutritional risks adequately. A concept, the "Anti Inflammatory Diet", was developed by Adam et al. (AED), which is to evaluate in the target group yet. Originally it developed for Rheumatic Diseases, the adaptation to MS was obvious due to pathological paralles. The operating principle is based, inter alia, on modification of dietary fat intake, based on the general recommendations for a balanced diet and a flexible, non-restrictive implementation.
