BRAS CUBAS AND THE SOLIDARITY OF HUMAN ANNOYANCE

Following the maxim of the character-narrator that "the work itself is everything", the article aims to read the book Memorias Postumas de Bras Cubas from the resources offered by the own text. Thus, an intrinsic question on the narrative is thought: what solidarity of human annoyance is, and what is its relation with mockery and melancholy, passions that permeates and drives the entire book. This question is analyzed from a reading of the chapter XLII, "Que escapou a Aristoteles", in comparison with other passages of the book.
