摘要
The teaching and learning of Spanish in the United States is related to some extent with the opportunities that students may have to practice their knowledge of the language -at some point during their program of study-in a geographical space where the target language functions as the lingua franca. In correlation to this variant it becomes instrumental the integration of the curricular component of the literature within the framework of interdisciplinary approaches in the understanding and information of the Hispanic culture, which consequently constitutes a key factor in the practicality of the Spanish language in the United States. This study, therefore, seeks to continue the dialogue on the relevance of the interdisciplinary studies, and it emphasizes the benefits of promoting opportunities for study abroad in Spanish speaking countries within the curricula, and as well to continue working on teaching a comprehensive and efficient methodology in the instruction of the Spanish language in the United States. The results of this study highlight the benefits of the integration of curricular and extracurricular activities within the context of immersion that enables the learners to function at a much more competent level in the international modern world.
