摘要：
The aim of this paper is to present the ways in which medical students have to approach the study of a foreign language in the context of globalization. In order to use a foreign language effectively, learners need to develop communicative competences. Foreign language teaching should also cultivate the learners' intercultural competences as these skills are very important in health care settings nowadays.
