摘要
In this paper, a User Mobility Pattern based Vertical Handoff Decision algorithm (UMP-VHD) in Cellular-WLAN Integrated Networks is proposed. In this algorithm, vertical handoff decision is formulated as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) with the objective of maximizing the total expected reward during a connection. A sequence of Received Signal Strength (RSS) history records of WLANs is defined as a part of state in MDP and the transitions between different states represent user mobility patterns relative to specific WLANs. Simulation results show that our method successfully reduces call-dropping probability and obtains higher rewards.
