Study on Bead Formability of 7A05 Aluminum Alloy by Laser-MIG Hybrid Welding

Influences of welding parameters on joint of Laser-MIG hybrid welding, penetration and bead width at different welding parameters were investigated in this paper, such as arc current, laser power, focal position, welding speed and distance of heat sources. The experiment indicated that, the individual parameter exerted different influence on penetration and bead width. For example, with the increase of arc current, penetration and bead width initially exhibited an increase trend and followed decreased, then they increased again. On the other side, penetration and bead width increased along with the increase of welding power. In addition, with the increase of welding speed, the penetration and bead width decreased rapidly and formability also declined. When the defocus distance was 0mm, penetration and bead width presented optimal values and the optimal heat sources distance is 2-3mm.
