This work studies Li//2O-MO-TiO//2 based ceramic pigments in which M equals Mg**2** plus , Zn**2** plus , Ni**2** plus or Co**2** plus . The X-ray diffraction results on the pigments shows that the primary phase found was spinel, Li//2MTi//3O//8. The data obtained by UV-V spectrophotometry indicated that the Ni(II) ion is in octahedral and the Co(II) ion in tetrahedral coordination.
